Board Positions

Families who serve on the Board take on leadership roles to shape the direction and administration of Narrows Cooperative Preschool. Elected at the beginning of the school year, Board members oversee the school’s policies, operations, and finances while ensuring our mission and values are upheld. Positions include President, Treasurer, Membership Chair, Fundraising Coordinator, and more. Serving on the Board is a meaningful way to make a lasting impact and develop deeper connections within our preschool community.

Class Representatives

Serves as a liaison between the teacher, board, and parents of their class, ensuring smooth communication and addressing class-specific needs.

Ways & Means

Coordinates fundraising efforts to support the school, including organizing events and managing fundraiser logistics.

Health & Safety

Ensures compliance with health and safety guidelines, maintains first-aid supplies, and organizes related trainings.

Jobs Coordinator

Assigns and oversees parent jobs, ensuring all responsibilities are distributed fairly and completed effectively.

Membership

Manages enrollment and registration, helping new families transition smoothly into the preschool community.

Newsletter

Creates and distributes the preschool newsletter to keep families informed about events, updates, and announcements.

Parent Education

Organizes parent education sessions, fostering growth and support for families through learning opportunities.

President

Leads the board, facilitates meetings, and oversees the overall operation and vision of the preschool.

Publicity

Promotes the preschool through social media, events, and other outreach efforts to attract new families.

Secretary

Documents board meetings through minutes, maintains records, and manages preschool correspondence.

Treasurer

Handles the preschool’s finances, including budgeting, tuition collection, and financial reporting.

Vice President

Supports the president, assists with leadership responsibilities, and ensures board cohesion.

 

Member at Large

This position is responsible for temporarily filling in a job until someone else steps in.
