About Us

Narrows Co-Op has been providing quality education for the University Place area since 1957.  At Narrows Cooperative Preschool, we believe in the philosophy of respect for the individual child, the ability to grow and develop inner controls, the ability to think & play creatively and the ability to discover and use individual resources.  We feel strongly in an individualized, child-centered program.  The best years of a child's learning life are between birth and six years of age; be a part of the wonderful joy that comes from seeing your child grow with us!

"My daughter was at Narrows for 2 years, and absolutely loved it. We are sold on the Co-op philosophy and love the teachers at Narrows.  I love the parent involvement, getting to know all the other kids and parents, knowing what my little girl is doing at school and who she is playing with.   When my daughter started the 3's class she had never been to daycare, preschool or had much opportunity to socialize outside of our small playgroup.   I dropped my shy 3 year old off on the first day sure she would come out crying for me.  She was fine that day, and now, after finishing the Pre-K class is totally prepared for kindergarten.  Everyone at Narrows is so supportive, the teachers love the kids, other parents become a natural support network, and the school itself is fantastic.   Narrows has a great outdoor playground, and the kids go outside almost everyday.  There is a great balance of different learning through play activities.  Narrows is a great place for children and parents!"
