Teacher Judy-twos class/ music

Hi!  I am Teacher Judy, and I have been involved at Narrows Co-op, either as a parent or a teacher, from 1987 to the present. Together with my husband Pat, l have raised/am raising six children ages 12-28, all of whom are graduates of Narrows.  The 2011-2012 school year will be my thirteenth year teaching Music Fun and my fourth year teaching the twos.  I am a graduate of Cupertino High School in Cupertino, California, and the University of Notre Dame in Indiana, where I was a four-year member of the marching, varsity and concert bands.  For the past 31 years I have played clarinet in the community band at Pierce College, and I also play piano for weddings, parties, and other community events. I am totally committed to the co-op philosophy and I love introducing children and their parents to preschool.  When I am not teaching, I enjoy volunteering at my children's schools and my church food bank, attending or watching sporting events of all kinds, reading, hiking, camping and trying to keep up with my family photo albums!

Prior to becoming a teacher with Narrows, I was a co-op parent.  During the six years spent at my children’s co-op, I served on the school board as a Class Representative and Co-President.  This past year, I have recently completed Child Development Associate classes through Bates Technical College.  I am currently working toward being assessed for the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential.  I have been married for over 17 years to my high school sweetheart, Kevin, and we have two wonderful children, Steven and Madelyn.  A California girl originally, I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1983 and instantly fell in love with this beautiful state.  I love watching and experiencing the change of seasons that we’re so blessed to have here.  My hobbies include; reading, photography, camping and going to the ocean with my family.  I also enjoy volunteering with the Awana and VBS programs within my church.
