Play-doh

2 C flour

2 C water

1 C Salt

1 tsp. vegetable oil

2 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar

Food coloring

Mix first 5 ingredients together in a sauce pan.  Cook on medium heat until it holds together-(keep mixing so it does not stick to the pan!)  Once mixture started to hold together in a ball, scoop out onto wax paper and allow it to cool slightly.  Knead in food coloring and keep in an airtight container for 1-2 months or until it's so gross you can't stand it anymore.

"Martha's Colorful Clay"

Same idea, little drier and will hold to sculpting

Mix 1 C. Flour, 1 C. water, 2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/2C. salt, and 1 tsp. canola oil (like Wesson).  Heat on low mixing constantly so that ingredients don't stick to pan.  When it forms a ball, scoop onto wax paper to cool.  You can add food coloring before or now, but knead "clay" slightly so that it holds a smooth shape.

Store in an air tight container for several months.
